Set up an email account automatically

If using an email provider such as iCloud, Google, or Yahoo, Mail can automatically set up an email account with only your email address and password. Here's the appropriate way:

  1. Go to Settings> Password & Account, then tap Add Account.
  2. Tap your email provider.
  3. Enter your email address and password.
  4. Tap Next and wait for Mail to verify your account.
  5. Select information from an email account, such as Contacts or Calendar, that you want to see on the device.
  6. Tap Save.
If the email provider isn't listed, tap More to manually add an account.

Manually manage iPhone XS email accounts

If you have to set up an e-mail account manually, make sure you know the e-mail settings for the account. If you don't know the e-mail settings, you can search for them or contact the e-mail provider. After that, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings> Password & Account, then tap Add Account.
  2. Tap Other, then tap Add Mail Account.
  3. Enter your name, email address, password, and account description.
  4. Tap Next. Mail will try to find email settings and complete account settings. If Mail finds your e-mail settings, tap Done to complete the account configuration.
